I don't know if I missed this or the schedule has changed but I just wanted to
mention something that I think could be cool or important as far as
layout/design, specifically with the Centerfolds and Playmate pictorials.

If you look at the (I assume) current issue of German Playboy you will see what
I'm talking about. The Playmate (can't remember her name) has a layout that,
except for the nudity, I would expect to see in a fashion magazine. Not the
shitty layouts where the girl is buried in makeup and you can only see one of
her ass cheeks or anything weird like that, I mean the kind of Movieline mag or
GQ celebrity pictorials where some of the shots look unposed, the model is in
mid-laugh and beautiful and not surgically arranged with everything else, there
are some cool backgrounds like in a subway station or a hotel lobby or
something modern or whatever. The next time I see that German Playboy, I'm
buying it just because of how cool the layout is.

What I propose would be really cool for our Playboy mag is that they maintain
the normal Playmate pictorial because it's become sort of an icon, but that
they also add an extra (that's 4 total pictorials now, not the standard 3)
layout further back in the issue that does more of this sort of classy,
tasteful, fashiony pictorial. It might help to show that the model can work as
a more than just a glamour model, too. It wouldn't have to be all nude,
either, but it shouldn't be non-nude. I think this would also raise Playboy
closer to the GQ pictorial "this is art" idea and pull it further away from the
Walmart "this is smut" lie.

Some examples (I hope these work)

There are more which I couldn't find, but you get the idea.

I'm not saying to swap from traditional to this, only to add a second layout
which is more, I don't know, elegant. I love glamour photography (Do I not go
to every GC and have a subscription to Playboy?), but I also like this style of
photography as well. I think it could help the flagship magazine and maybe get
more varied looking models to consider posing for Playboy, especially if they
could look that supermodel stunning along with being glamour model stunning.
Maybe I'm high.
