Playboy Magazine Names Diane Silberstein Associate Publisher/Advertising
NEW YORK, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- James Dimonekas, vice
president and publisher of Playboy magazine, today named Diane
Silberstein to the position of associate publisher/advertising for
the magazine. She will be based in Playboy Enterprises, Inc.'s
(NYSE: PLA) (PEI) Publishing Group headquarters in New York and will
report to Dimonekas.
Silberstein, 46, joins Playboy from YAHOO! Internet Life Magazine,
where she was the magazine's publisher. She has also served as
publisher of The New Yorker and Elle, has held top positions with
Allure and Vogue, and was the senior vice president/group publisher
at Phase2Media, an internet advertising sales, marketing and
promotional company for top Web companies such as Maxim Online, the
National Hockey League, FOX, ELLE.com and Britannica.com.
Silberstein began her career at Glamour magazine.
"Diane is a key player in the consumer publishing business, and a
highly- regarded and respected member of the industry," said
Dimonekas. "Her strong background in fashion and beauty, and her
in-depth knowledge of the consumer electronics and tech sectors,
will be instrumental in further advancing our presence in these
businesses."
"With the 50th anniversary approaching and a new editor, Jim
Kaminsky, at the helm, it is a particularly exciting time to be
joining Playboy," said Silberstein. "As the world's best-selling
men's magazine occupies a unique position in the industry, I look
forward to working with the organization now in place to help make
Playboy more successful than ever."
Silberstein will join PEI on February 10.
