There is a lot to like in this pin-up. Barbara manages to look very feminine even with her cropped hair. She's got a stunning figure, and as much of it as Hef felt could be shown in 1955 is on display here. A major part of the proceedings are the dark brown patterned walls around the tub. It's a fine setting for the Cameron Diamond. As dark as the surroundings are, there is life and vitality overflowing here. Playboy is not afraid to explore the joys of older women, but there's a lot to be said for her younger sister. What she lacks in knowledge she makes up for in enthusiasm. The photographer has caught this aspect. The setting tells us Barbara has just had a good time. Her expression tells us she's ready for another. There's less of a male presence here than in some earlier centerfolds. I think this understatement works quite well, but then I've always been a fan of subtlety. The first shot in the portfolio is a different take on this shot. I'm glad Hef chose this one to run in his magazine.
