If we're not, she is. It's interesting to compare this centerfold with Julie McCullough's. Both show that same hands on the hips dominance that never intimidates. Both are set outside and both feature models that are more beautiful than spectacular. We have a little bit of spectacular forced on us with the red toreador pants. At one time they were the sine qua non of sexual fashion, much like a Wonder Bra has been in recent memory. In contemporary eyes the pants look good, but not that good. What still looks good is the freshness of the outdoors. It's a rarely kept secret that photo trees often have their leaves pasted on. I can't tell if that's the case here, but the feel of the whole centerfold, except for Dawn, is that it's utterly natural. Dawn in contrast seems more calculating and more experienced than the prototypical Girl Next Door. In this case, that's not a fault. Dawn makes us acutely aware of the moment. Her past or our past are irrelevant. With a lover, that's not a bad thing.
