In Lari Laine's centerfold (May 1958) she's hanging up her towel after a 
quick round of golf. She might play another round, at least if we mark 
our cards correctly.

I like the way the story is told here. Lari is reaching for her robe, 
having come out of the shower wrapped in a towel. That the towel also 
provides a fig leaf seems almost beside the point. She's reaching, but 
she's stopped and turned to look at us. We may not belong in the women's 
locker room, but we belong with Lari. No matter how much skin is exposed 
in a pin-up, that emotion almost assures that the picture will be a success.

The forms outlined here are also well done. There is a very strong 
diagonal starting at the top of the robe and moving to the lower left 
through Lari. It's not a ruler-straight line, but curves through Lari's 
curves. The slight lift in her right leg gives the bit of drama 
attempted by the "I gotta go potty" look of forty years later.

The color scheme would never make it in this century, but there is a 
nice play among the tan, green and yellow elements.
