It looks like her original excuse was to get an over-all tan, but now she seems to have something else on her mind. The centerfold shows the influence of the sparse, direct line that was a hallmark of the 1950's. That's the good news. The bad news is that it also shows a cutesy-ness that at that time passed for sexy. The yellow of the towel balances the dark wood of the bench and the light tan of the building. Its form plays into the overall composition perfectly. If Cindy weren't tugging on the damn thing with a silly grin the effect would be nearly perfect. The pose works graphically, but is not well suited for Cindy. Having her lean back against the wall while in those high heel sandals puts a lot of tension in her legs, in opposition to the care-free look on her face, and really accentuates the size of her bottom. But I'm more positive overall about this centerfold than not. It's the outstanding, timeless beauty of Cindy that pulls the photographer's chestnuts out of the fire and saves the centerfold. The point of the centerfold isn't making Cindy's leg look good, it's the unfettered freedom shown by a naked woman on the balcony. No matter what the task, someone who is really into what they're doing makes a much better partner. New scoring: Pin-up: 3.0 Erotic: 3.0 Artistic: 3.5 Overall: 3.1 Mark Tomlonson Kalamazoo MI
