In Ellen Stratton's centerfold (December 1959) she's hanging the 
mistletoe. It's obvious from the look in her eyes that the tradition of 
a kiss will be amplified this year.

Not every woman can pull off this kind of pose. Not even every
attractive woman can look this good. Nothing has been done to suggest
that Ellen is covering up a flaw by a carefully selected angle or
other photographic trick. She's just standing there.

Back in time before pin ups dropped the fig leaf, I would often think
to myself "If she wasn't wearing panties, I could really see
something" (in the Cyber-club scan, we see that Ellen was actually
wearing see-thru panties). In the centerfold Ellen's artificially
opaque knickers are providing more than just a cover, they're also
adding a needed splash of color. A modern Playmate, with her
over-zealous trimming, would not make this pose look this good if it
were redone stark naked.

Changing the decoration of this set would also be a bad idea. There is
just enough there to place this in a particular time and setting, but
no more. A great way to compliment and reinforce the simplicity of
Ellen's pose, costume and expression.
