Why someone would be clipping a newspaper while fully made-up but naked is beyond me, but then that's not really the point here, is it? This is a great pose for Elaine, and really shows off her figure to great advantage. That bit of roundness below her navel, common on most women, is often downplayed or exercised away on today's Playmates. In other pin-ups of the sixties, it can at times seem odd after the cultural conditioning I've grown up with. I wonder if today's twenty-somethings will have the same reaction to women without aggressive bikini waxes. At any rate, here the curve is just one of several that are very pleasing and it works well in context. Elaine's hair looks very good, providing an excellent frame for her beautiful face. The zigzag effect of her legs is very nice. For some reason I enjoy her toe just peeking out from under her hip. A couple of minor miscues. The wall hanging splits her head in half, and her expression is just a bit too arch. Neither is so serious as to spoil the overall effect. I think Elaine's best photo is the headshot on her Cyber Club article page. http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/1960/08/centerfold.html http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/1960/08/headshot.html Mark Tomlonson Kalamazoo MI
