To: pml1@yahoogroups.com From: Mark Tomlonson Date: Mon, 19 May 2003 11:20:31 -0400 Subject: [PML1] CC: Carol Eden In Carol Eden's centerfold (December 1960) she's standing in front of a fireplace, hanging her Christmas stocking with care. In comparing the centerfold to the photos in the Cyber Club Portfolio, it becomes obvious that this is a photo designed by a committee. Look at photo #10, clearly an early study for the centerfold. It has clean lines, an uncluttered, direct look, and an eager, enthusiastic model. The centerfold, on the other hand, has all kinds of crap in it, it's not as flattering to Carol, and she looks like she's done this pose a thousand times before. Today. I can just imagine a roomful of junior editors poring over the test shots and coming up with changes to "justify" their further employment. The centerfold has its good points: the long curve from Carol's right toe to the top of her head, and the right angles of the brickwork contrasted with that curve. The most attractive part of Carol is missed altogether - her smile. You'd never guess that this was a picture of one of the cutest Playmates ever. I still enjoy this centerfold a great deal, thanks to Carol.
