The only things in the frame of the picture are Heidi and a sweater that's being removed. Not that I'm complaining, mind you. It's hard to take a really good photograph in front of an extremely cluttered background. There's a real danger the subject will get lost. It's also hard to take a really good photograph in front of a stark background. The danger is that any sense of context will be lost. The plain background photograph has to rely on an extremely strong subject to succeed. It can be because the subject is presented in an unusual way, or because the subject needs no embellishment. Here we see a classic example of the latter situation. Heidi needs no help; her marvelous figure and beautiful face make this picture. The choice of colors help, and there's a fairly decent composition lurking in there, but it's all about Heidi. Some of this shot's appeal may come from elsewhere, but I'm quite happy to give all the credit for this stunning centerfold to Heidi.
