In Christa Speck's centerfold (September 1961) she's freshening her nail 
polish, probably at the beginning of the day. There may soon be a slight 
pause in her preparations, maybe even before the polish is dry.

This is one of the best possible poses for Christa. It shows off her 
legs, breasts and face to high advantage. The slight arch in her back 
not only makes for a good pose, but also adds to her alert look, a look 
that in and of itself is very flattering.

The pose is also very tightly controlled geometrically. The line formed 
by the pillows meeting the bed points our eyes directly towards 
Christa's nipples, as does the bottle of fingernail polish, its white 
cap pointing up like an arrow. If that weren't enough, the semi-sheer 
negligee forms natural lines pointing to the same lovely goal. There's 
still one more eye director: the single blue pillow against its red 
partners. I suppose Christa's lovely figure draws some attention on its 
own merits.

The remainder of the lines form a triangle with the long side on the 
right edge, balancing Christa and forming a very pleasing design. Even 
Christa's beehive hairdo is part of this construction.
