It seems like it would be impossible to take a bad picture of her. In her centerfold (December 1963) we see that sometimes the impossible happens. Some of this is the style of the centerfold. It's an antique white, French Provincial setting that was popular at the time. I don't think Donna is dark enough to make it work. Setting her against that red drape in the background would have been a much better choice. A lot of it is the pose. The way she is holding her arms and the fig leaf, coupled with her angle to the camera flatten out her breast. As delightful as her curves are, this should be a criminal offense. Most of it is her expression. It's way too severe, especially given how playful and coy she can appear in some of the other shots. I'm at a loss to explain why this picture was chosen. Maybe Hef was thinking with Little Hef when he picked it out. Remember Donna by her truly outstanding and creative PMOY feature in May 1964, not this.
