In Jo Collins' centerfold (December 1964) she's just stepped out of the 
pool. That wet shirt is going to make her chilly pretty quick, and she's 
looking for another way to keep warm.

Playboy nowadays can be as explicit as it wants to be. In the middle 
sixties, that was clearly not the situation. Most often the fig leaf was 
noticeable, but didn't detract. Sometimes it was just plain goofy. 
Sometimes, as in this centerfold, you really don't care that it's there.

You really can't see any of Jo's figure in this shot, but yet the 
photographer has managed to capture a highly erotic, sexy image of a 
stunningly beautiful woman. Good genes and killer cheekbones play a big 
role in Jo's beauty. Still, you can't ignore the efforts of the stylist 
who made her wet hair look perfect (it was probably Jo herself), and the 
photographer who has managed to catch just the right angle for her head 
and the right smile for her face.

Sometimes the structure of the centerfold drives its appeal. Here, it 
serves best by just getting out of the way. In this case Jo has the 
spotlight all to herself, and she deserves it.
