To: pml1@yahoogroups.com Subject: [PML1] CC: Dolly Read From: Mark Tomlonson Date: Fri, 12 Sep 2003 09:29:05 -0400 In Dolly Read's centerfold (May 1966) she's decided to show us the goods, or at least as many of the goods as she could show in 1966. That's why this is a centerfold my wife has never liked. Heterosexual woman that she is she finds the pose fake and contrived. Heterosexual male that I am I find it tapping into a lot of my daydreams. Many, many times I've wished that the woman who had caught my eye would have turned around and assumed Dolly's pose. Alas, with one notable exception, she never has. The pose isn't the only thing that recommends this centerfold. Dolly's face alone could bring me back many times. It's a pleasant mix of cute, sophisticated, accessible and friendly. The hairstyle, although straight out of its time, is very flattering and complimentary to Dolly. As much as I enjoy the thought behind the pose it's not the most flattering or complimentary to Dolly. Her breasts do not have the well-defined curves that she shows in many of the shots in the portfolio. In addition to the alternate, the shots taken while she's standing in the pool are much better in that regard. Suffice it to say she doesn't like "flash" poses for her own reasons. Mark Tomlonson Kalamazoo MI
