As a Fender Precision player * I've wondered at times what it would be like to play a Rickenbacker. This is the only time I wished I were a Rickenbacker. Star broke out of the standard centerfold in a couple of ways. First, the good ones. Star's breasts are, to put it charitably, unspectacular. Not ugly, but not dramatic enough for the usual men's magazine. Her stomach is a different story. Here we see why the Brazilians get so excited about this part of the female anatomy. No six-pack, just a lovely, tan, taut expanse of skin to run your hand (or whatever) over again and again. The bad news: Star was chosen as a Playmate as much for her sexual availability as her sexual attractiveness. It's not all Playboy's fault. The Seventies were declared part of a new paradigm, as the Sixties were before that. They weren't, and their crash followed a short time later. And of course, I don't think there's a Playboy fan out there who doesn't regret both that Star has passed and the method by which she left us.
