In Janis Schmitt's centerfold (February 1978) we've chased the wench 
around the Master's bed and the pursuit is about to reach it's 
conclusion.

The key to this centerfold is that we don't know what that conclusion 
is going to be. For that matter, neither does Janis. It's not at all 
that she's teasing us. She's right on the cusp of the decision that 
men want so desperately to go in their favor - will she or won't she?

The castle/manse setting is carried through in every detail of the 
centerfold, a Playboy hallmark. We see it in the costume, the 
bedclothes, the bed, the window and the floor. No detail is out of 
place.

Janis plays her part wonderfully. She has a great but not spectacular 
body, and it's presented here in a way that makes you ignore any 
shortcoming. The leaning body also adds some drama and tension to the 
composition, but it's only after the kind of examination I'm giving 
the photo now that you see it. And no, I don't always look at 
centerfolds with a critical eye.

Janis was the first Playmate that Playboy admitted was over 25 years 
old. What were they afraid of?
