In Karen Morton's centerfold (July 1978) she's about to step into the 
bath. The tub looks big enough for the both of us, and Karen looks like 
she's come to the same conclusion.

I think this centerfold is all about Karen's right leg. It's up there, 
way up there. It's quite a reach up to the edge of the tub. That high 
heeled slipper she's got on her left foot means that she's really 
working to maintain her sense of balance. So why put her leg this high?

In the first place it brings out the musculature in her legs and torso. 
Her body gains more definition, making it easier for us to create a 
mental image of a real, live woman under our touch.

In the second place it creates an extreme amount of explicitness. 
Without question this is the most explicit centerfold Playboy has run to 
date. I can think of only one other non-centerfold that was similar. I'm 
guessing from hints dropped on this list that Karen is presently unhappy 
with the pose. It hasn't been repeated. It is in no sense a disaster, 
just not a tack Playboy has chosen to pursue further.

Update:

Clearly this is one of Playboy's most explicit centerfolds, but I'm not 
sure I have any interest at this point in trying t nail down which one 
qualifies for the honor of most explicit.

I was mistaken about Karen being unhappy with her centerfold. It was 
another picture she was unhappy with.
