In Marcy Hanson's centerfold (October 1978) she's changing clothes in a 
makeshift locker room. It's possible she'll hit the street in those 
shorts. Well, in my fantasies anyway.

In my mind I think of Marcy's PMOM feature, and to a lesser extent her 
centerfold as defining Playboy's nadir. Marcy is Playmate worthy, with a 
Girl Next Door freshness and an unconventional but utterly attractive 
face and equally attractive figure. In the feature we get an emphasis on 
her sexual availability. Honey Bee Novak, her blonde airhead character 
on the short-lived "Roller Girls" gets as much attention as Marcy does.

The centerfold is an average effort for the most part, but I have 
trouble with the placement of the mirror and Marcy's pose. It's not that 
I mind seeing what the mirror reveals, far from it. It's the way the 
mirror was added to the set only to show the details of Marcy's bottom. 
Playboy can and often does do much better than this, a good example of 
which is the "doe's foot". It's miles beyond the mirror in both 
sophistication and style.

The pose is trying to be too many things, and Marcy and the centerfold 
suffer because of it.
