Well, one kind of night anyway. A particular kind of town, too, come to think of it. I'll admit right off that I'm no fan of fishnet. Probably too many images of cheap, consumptive, syphilitic, drunken French whores burned into my memory files. (Media images only, mind you!) Here, though, fishnet works very well. Gig plays a big part in this, with a figure that can stand being visually cut up into little squares and slightly squeezed. The pose is good, not because of what it does to her bustline, but because of the animation it gives the photo. Somehow that black fishnet also ties in with the fedora and choker, giving the whole image a Frank Sinatra kind of class; the definition the slightly nerdy Hefner admired in his adolescent years. There have been centerfolds that have tried this image and failed. This one succeeds. I'd guess it's the attitude that Gig projects. It's that same sense of cock-surety that the Chairman Of The Board made his trademark. Gig's unique quality is being able to project this while still retaining every ounce of her femininity.
