In Susan Smith's centerfold (September 1981) she's just come out of the 
reeds, perhaps while looking for Moses. We can all be truly grateful 
that her swimming suit did not come with her.

Susan has an outstanding figure. I don't mean her cup size is towards 
the end of the alphabet; it's the kind of figure where you could rest 
your eyes anywhere and enjoy completely what you had found. The best 
thing about this pose is how well it shows Susan's figure off. When 
you've got a light this bright, why hide it under a basket?

The selection of the background and setting was interesting. Pretty 
naked girls in water are nothing new, but I can't remember seeing a 
setting exactly like this. The reeds or grass in the background work 
both for their color and the semi-random cross-hatching they put in back 
of Susan. The way the reeds take a slight slant to the left of the frame 
is a nice touch. For all these reasons it's easy to ignore the fact that 
Susan is kneeling in the water, a most unusual position.

Susan's expression is very good, with a mood matching the actions of her 
arms.
