To: pml1@yahoogroups.com Subject: [PML1] CC: Suzi Schott From: Mark Tomlonson Date: Fri, 18 Jul 2003 15:23:35 -0400 In Suzi Schott's centerfold (August 1984) she's seated at a desk, trying as hard as she can to distract us from our work. The desk looks like it's in our home, either a den or a dorm room, and gives the photo a domestic feel. The main element in the photo is Suzi's flowered dress. It works well on her, and the Cyber Club shows that at least a couple other poses were tried with it. Here it has been carefully arranged to highlight her "goodies" while at the same time the dress's lines reinforce and extend the natural contours of her body. This is not true of every bit of clothing showing up in a centerfold. There is no fig leaf here in any sense. It took Playboy a while to do this with this little fuss. This centerfold represents a mature style. But there is a big problem here with Suzi's expression. It's an old trick to have model tilt her head down and then look up to get a seductive look, but here Suzi's head has been allowed to fall way too far. The result is a false, posed feeling that detracts from an otherwise fine photograph.
