In Debi Johnson's centerfold (October 1984) she's come in from the rain 
and is warming herself beside the fireplace. Now it's our job to 
continue the warm-up process.

This centerfold is about directness and intimacy, two things that are 
towards the top of my list of turn-ons.

The directness comes from Debi's expression and her pose. The expression 
is not ambiguous in any sense. This ain't no tea party, Chester! The 
pose is almost straight-on, Debi's been turned just enough to accent her 
lovely curves: all of them, not just the two near the top.

Intimacy comes from the camera placement and the close cropping of the 
photograph. We are RIGHT THERE next to Debi. The ability to count every 
hair and freckle is a major element of the appeal of the centerfold.

The colors are muted. The lights are placed to highlight the details 
(adding intimacy) but they're not harsh or direct. Both make this an 
evening shot.

The black shiny robe falling off Debi's shoulders is a perfect accent to 
her wonderful figure. It takes a great body above all else to make a 
shot like this work, and Debi is more than up to the task.
