That was the idea, anyway, but I think Karen sabotages the effort with her just-been-goosed look. I could be more charitable and say that the surprised look on Karen's face is the result of the wind blowing open her clothing as we get an unintended flash. I'm not going to argue with the virtues of the wind-borne flash (Thirty years ago a woman who I had been admiring from afar walked out of a nightclub when a sudden breeze revealed she was wearing neither panties nor bra under her dress. In that order.), and I probably would go with that interpretation if Karen did more for me. A pin-up has to communicate. I see Karen looking at the camera, trying to be sexy, but it doesn't light any of my fires. The centerfold's not a disaster. I like the twist in Karen's pose. I like the "Miami Vice" pastels. They're a good match not only for the theme but also for Karen. The texture of the rough wood is an interesting compliment to the fabrics, and they're both delightful contrasts to Karen's skin. The dark blue band at the bottom adds a sense of weight to the composition and sets off the other colors.
