In Katherine Hushaw's centerfold (October 1986) she's climbing an access 
stepladder to a rooftop. She seems like she's trying to get away from us 
as fast as she can.

I am utterly underwhelmed by this centerfold. Katherine is not a bad 
looking Playmate, but I just cannot bring myself to relate to this setting.

The colors don't work for me. The mix of pastel eighties funky with 
industrial chrome sounds like it might work when you say it out loud, 
but it doesn't on the printed page. I think what's needed is more 
pastel, especially the bright pinks, and less of the silver and grey.

Her pose looks like she's just tripped on those stairs, a feeling 
heightened by the spike heeled shoes. Katherine said this pose was 
uncomfortable, and I don't doubt it a bit. Her legs should be the center 
of erotic attraction by their placement in the frame, but they're under 
too much tension to fill that role.

The less said about Katherine's hair, the better.

There should have been an editor somewhere who said, "Look, this isn't 
working. Let's bag the whole thing and start over." Unfortunately for 
Katherine and us no one spoke up.
