In the first place Simone, a very attractive woman, does not have the kind of figure that is flattered by lying flat on her back with her arms over her head, giving her breasts a natural but odd shape. It's as if her breasts had been attached upside down. It's one thing to see a lover in this position, quite another for a pin-up. This is possibly the worst pose that could have been selected for Simone. No woman lies down in a bed like this unless someone has told her to. This is a completely unnatural pose, and it makes no sense on any level. Each element - her arms, the angle of her dress, the position of her legs, the hat - has no relationship to anything else in the frame. A mix of semi-random elements can work, but it takes more thought than seems to have been applied here. To top it off, Simone looks like she's trying to figure out what damn thing the photographer's going to ask her to do next. I'd rather my fantasy women be figuring out what I want them to do next. Photographer: Stephen Wayda Scoring: Pin-up: 0.5 Erotic: 0.5 Artistic: 0.0 Overall: 0.4 out of 4.0 Cyber Club Portfolio Photo I like better than the Centerfold: # 43, with just a slightly different expression http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/1989/02/centerfold.html http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/1989/02/43-lrg.html Update: Trying to make my scoring more consistant, I've revised the "artistic" rating. I really do like the colors here, and I like how attractivve Simone's face is, even given a less than attractive expression. THese are the kinds of things I meant for the "artistic" rating. In short, I penalized the centerfold twice with low "pin-up" and "artistic" ratings for a really awful pose.
