In Erika Elena's centerfold (July 1989) we see a variation on being 
invited to the Captain's table.

Erika comes across in all of her Playboy works as a very soft and 
delicate woman. I don't mean fragile or helpless, just very, very 
feminine. There seems to be no attempt to make it the central focus in 
this photograph, but it shines through anyway.

I'm particularly struck by the choice of pose. It does wonderful things 
for Erika's figure, especially her breasts. They accent her soft and 
delicate qualities. The clothing she's wearing makes it look more 
awkward than what it really is. I think this can be traced to the 
striped skirt. It's jarring placed against everything else in the 
photograph that is non-patterned. She's also wearing it in a very odd way.

The use of the gold accents is well placed, centering on Erika's lovely 
golden hair. Just a hint of brass halfway down the right side of the 
photograph provides balance.

Erika's expression is one of passionate surrender. What makes it a 
winner is the absence of any hint that she is a mindless sex slave. That 
line has not always been successfully balanced, but it is here.
