I guess my real problem with this centerfold is that it tries way, way too hard. Between Wendy's waist and her chin we're doing pretty good. I like the flash - I believe it. I like the way her shirt outlines and frames her breasts. There could actually be the germ of a good centerfold here. Even when I look at a centerfold as a tourist instead of a critic I still take in the whole picture, and that's where we get into big trouble. The look on Wendy's face isn't a natural expression of lust; the kind you see on your best girl. It's the kind of expression you rent because your girlfriend is mostly imaginary. The less said about Wendy's legs the better. They're positioned to induce the same urge as a dripping faucet. The colors are the best thing going here. The red, white and blue scheme would work even if it wasn't a Fourth of July centerfold. The white accents, including the sailor cap with the flag pin, are all handled very well. Wendy is lit particularly well. This is what the "popcorn" cover should have been. http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/1991/07/centerfold.html http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/1991/07/01-lrg.html Mark Tomlonson Kalamazoo MI
