During the Victorian Era, women in white tights were often billed as 
being "as naked as she dares". In Arlene Baxter's centerfold (December 
1993) we see a woman who's obviously much more naked than what could be 
dared then.

The Victorian feeling to this centerfold comes from the shoes and the 
corset. The best thing about this super-super-retro look is how good it 
looks on Arlene. Many of her PMOM shots left me cold, but this one hints 
that maybe she was born 100 years too late. It's more than just the 
clothes; she has an attitude that could be interpreted as a release of 
sexual repression. It could also be read as a slight case of ennui. The 
Victorians in actuality weren't as repressed as some would have us 
believe - after all, we wouldn't be here today if they were. 
Nevertheless it makes a nice setting for Arlene.

The shoes don't look as goofy as some attempts at looking half-undone. I 
also like Arlene's posture and what it does for her figure. Her sleeve 
falling just off her left shoulder makes a very attractive swoop, and as 
our eyes swoop along with it we're directed to her breasts.
