In Rachel Jean Marteen's centerfold (August 1995) she's holding a copy 
of her own centerfold, a compositional tradition that stretches back for 
years. It's never been more than a novelty, and unfortunately it's one 
of the highlights in this photo.

Rachel is by all accounts a supple, sensuous athletic, cat-like woman. 
Why then is she bound into this pose, probably the worst example of the 
"Gotta-go-potty-look"? Every limb, every inch of her torso looks stiff, 
forced and constrained. Capturing a spontaneous, flowing look in a 
centerfold is hard work, but Playboy's done it before and Rachel 
certainly would have been worth the effort.

If only the entire photo had caught the passion and fire that burns in 
her eyes. Man, this woman is hot! She doesn't project that heat with 
tricks or fancy gauze, but with old fashioned, camera burning intensity. 
I'm as sure that none of us would last more than three rounds with her 
as I am sure that all of us would want to try.

The set dressing isn't bad, with the yellow highlights well placed. The 
colors work well with Rachel, but with a pose this bad it's all for 
naught. Just give me those eyes!
