(Hey! It could happen!) In Kelly's case, that would be a good thing indeed. Besides Kelly, the second thing I notice about this picture is its use of red. It's much different than 40 years earlier when red was smeared over a centerfold with a broad brush. Here it's applied with finesse: 'light touches all around the frame, tying the picture together rather than being its foundation. A much better use of the color, I think. The other accents are white and blue. This gives a light, summer feeling to the picture, very appropriate for a lifeguard. We know Kelly's a lifeguard: it says so on her shirt. It's difficult to have a model wear a shirt pushed up like this without making her breasts look odd, but this time it works. Kelly's got her legs in what I'll call the "1990 Fig Leaf" pattern. It's there, but it's not open for business now. The leaf works well here, avoiding the "time to potty" look that is, sad to say, also common in the '90's. A simple, direct centerfold that fits the model well.
