In Vanessa Gleason's centerfold (September 1998) we see the perfect 
example of the Playmate-from-the-skylight pose that for some unknown 
reason was very popular in the late Nineties.

I'm baffled that this look was used at all, let alone enough that I can 
see it as a type. It looks like Vanessa may have broken her back. 
Centerfolds are supposed to make me think along the lines of "Oh you 
sexy girl!" not "Oh you poor girl!" All the lines that I find so 
attractive on a woman are distorted here. Not only her breasts, which 
like all else on the planet are slaves to the laws of gravity, but also 
her torso, her legs, and even her face take on some odd lines because of 
the pose. I don't mind looking up Vanessa's nose, but there are more 
flattering angles.

Really, this isn't a bad centerfold. The angling bed draws our eyes from 
left to right across the lovely Vanessa. The reds, browns and blacks all 
work together in a pleasing whole. And if you can work your way around 
to her eyes, it's clear she's a woman with a lot to offer in any kind of 
relationship.
