In Alexandria Karlsen's centerfold (March 1999) she seems to have fallen 
for the DJ at a wedding reception in a hotel ballroom. Lucky for us, 
we're the DJ.

This is a centerfold that's better than it seems at first glance.

Alexandria's pose is wonderful. Very flattering, as should be the case 
in any centerfold, but it also projects a great deal of power. She seems 
ready to shift her weight onto her right leg and start moving towards 
us. The look on her face says she's going to make that move soon, she 
knows what she wants, and she's not going to take "no" for an answer. 
Good bits, all.

Visually all the fussy stuff is on the left hand side of the photo; the 
microphone, the album cover, the console. On the right things are much 
simpler. The effect is that our eyes slide into Alexandria. It's a 
welcome change from the (pleasant) sensation of having our eyes directed 
toward the Playmate like a bull's eye.

I like how the bands of light on the background direct our eyes. Very 
subtle and effective. It helps that other areas receive emphasis by 
their position, making a nice contrast and balance.
