This centerfold reminds me a lot of the paintings that were popular 100 years ago of French, usually Parisian courtesans. The whole feel of the thing, from the picture on the wall to Kerissa's pose to the bedclothes all are very reminiscent. In preparing to write these words I thought I could put my finger on the exact source, but I can't. I'm sure there's a painting out there that matches this centerfold at least as well as "Grand Odalisque" matches Sheralee Conners. The matching blue in the bedding and the painting is very obvious, but it works very well. The gold is a wonderful third color to tie the blue in with Kerissa's coloration. The wispy gold necklace Kerissa has wrapped around her leg adds stability far beyond its size, and was a clever, effective choice. With or without a precedent in oil, Kerissa's pose is very, very nice. I only wish I could say the same for her expression. She seems uninvolved when she needs to be inviting. Maybe I just need to get to know Kerissa better. O.K.!
