Here is the centerfold critique with the alternate portfolio selection] In Aliya Wolf's centerfold (February 2004) she's waiting for us at the bar. There are only four things wrong with this centerfold. 1) Aliya's left breast looks like it could lose a couple of pounds of air. It doesn't have this look in any of the other shots, only in this pose and this camera angle. 2) Aliya's tat? is too big and in the wrong place. 50,000 years of evolution drive our eyes lower but the tattoo stops us cold in our tracks. Some of the fig leaves of the sixties had the same problem. Again, this is something not seen in the other shots/poses. 3) Aliya is just standing there. We're completely without any sense of tension. There seems to be no reason to believe that approaching Aliya would yield positive, or even negative results. 4) The centerfold was shot in a film format too small for the size of the centerfold. It's not too noticeable in skin tones, but in the background the grain makes it look like the picture was taken through a stocking. The people who "read" Playboy only in the bathroom won't notice, but I do. I don't blame the photographer. It's the editors. Photographer: Stephen Wayda Scoring: Pin-up: 1.0 Erotic: 1.0 Artistic: 1.0 Overall: 1.0 out of 4.0 Cyber Club Portfolio Photo I like better than the Centerfold: #6 A much better pose for Aliya. I could stand to look at #26 all day, even though it's not really centerfold material. http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/2004/02/centerfold.html http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/2004/02/06-lrg.html http://cyber.playboy.com/members/playmates/files/2004/02/26-lrg.html Mark Tomlonson
