In Athena Lundberg's centerfold (January 2006) we've met her in an
atelier where one of the works has caused her to drop most of her
clothes. Now, how much was the price on that one?

To my eye, Playboy has two centerfold props that are rarely handled
well: men and food. Here the male image, as two-dimensional as it is,
distracts too much from where our gaze should go, to Athena. The black
and white of the image give no problem, but I think a more abstract
work would have been preferred. Still, any effort by Playboy to find
new settings and implied situations for the centerfold is to be
applauded.

Athena is shown off in fine fashion. Here the corset doesn't hide so
much as it defines. The lines it marks across Athena's lovely body
come at just the right places.

The true beauty here, I think, is Athena's outstanding smile. She's
got the body to back it up, but the knee-melting power of this
centerfold is above her neck. The land down under is not ignored, and
Athena is striking a pose that puts just the right amount of tension
in her body to highlight her wonderful form.
