In Janine Habeck's centerfold (September 2006) she's coming in from
the balcony with a surprise for us. Or have we surprised her?

Again we are taken to Playboy's New York apartment (existing only in
the studio) to showcase an outstanding Playmate. I love how the
Classic era of centerfolds is recalled by this composition. We find
two doors making strong side verticals with the Playmate in the
center. This basic form has been used many times before. Janine's left
leg is crossed "just so" and we get a lovely curve that starts at her
left shoulder and ends somewhere out of the frame, yet we miss nothing
important: a great way to treat this figure.

I also love her "Oh, it's you!" expression. This is not a bad one to
find on any naked woman. The deep-enough-to-get-lost-in red lipstick
is the perfect accent.

So what's not to like? The background. Sorry guys, in a straight on
shot as close as this the background looks as genuine as a Ukrainian
three-dollar bill. It's not the backdrop's fault. In a couple of
Janine's feature shots it's used as it should be, as a distant and
minor addition to the picture.
