In Sandra Nilsson's centerfold (January 2008) she's in our
bedroom. It's a quiet evening with just the two of us and the sounds
of the Playboy Jazz Festival. Sandra looks ready for some jazz. And
we'll be playing a CD or two as well.

I absolutely love the pose that Sandra strikes. Her slow "S" curve
highlights every detail of her body. It takes little imagination to
see myself running my hands all over those stunning curves.

But if this centerfold were the Dave Brubek trio, then it's a trio
that didn't tune before they came out on stage. In six of the eight
pictures we see of Sandra in the PMOM feature she has the direct
communication with the camera and the viewer that make for great pin-
ups. In the other two, including the centerfold, she's still got a
great smile, but it's a flat beauty contestant smile meant for
everyone in the room, not just me.

The other flat note, literally, is the reproduction. The Dusty Rose
wall behind Sandra's head should look murky and flat, but not the rest
of the centerfold, and especially not the gem in her navel. It ruins a
great Freytag performance.
