In Zahra Norbo's centerfold (March 1958) she's trying way too hard to 
welcome us back to camp after a day in the woods.

I've never liked this centerfold. I like the way Zahra looks. She's a 
little heavier than most nude models but she's up to snuff in terms of 
the ability to project a mood. My quarrel is that the mood she's 
projecting is so stupid. It's hard for me to look at all the portfolio 
shots that are alternate treatments of the centerfold and believe that 
this shot was the winner. I can see the mood they were trying for, but 
the pose and the hand on the cheek are just too stilted to make it work.

The alternate is much better for its ability to capture a moment. The 
other centerfold takes are also good.

I like the colors. I like the way Zahra wears a Mackinaw and nothing 
else. I like the somewhat surprising play of the red and grey color scheme.

All of the shots are fairly modest, but few strike the false note the 
centerfold does. The centerfold does do a good job of showing what Zahra 
wanted to show.

much better realization of the centerfold's theme.
