In Teddi Smith's centerfold (July 1960) we're joining her in the cuddy 
of a boat, and are about to cuddle up together.

Details make a big difference. Teddi is posed in a flattering and modest 
pose, with a sly look on her face that hints that if we play our cards 
right, her shorts as well as her shirt will be removed. There is a 
spoiler, though. The way Teddi is holding her hands makes it look like 
her shirt is the most odious creation on the planet. I'm sure it's not 
reeking as much as her grip would indicate, so we'll assume she's 
holding her hands this way because somebody told her to. A better grip 
would have gone a long way towards improving the photo.

It was a good idea to line her up with the bow of the boat she's in. The 
port and starboard sides angle toward the bow, and in this photo that 
means the angles point to Teddi and draw us into the picture. The colors 
of the background and Teddi's clothes were a good choice as well. They 
have the solid, blocky tones and shapes that were common in the early 
sixties.
