She has a look that works well in a centerfold: interested, but we (the viewer) still have some work to do. Usually having your rear referred to as your "best side" is not particularly a compliment. In Kathy's case, it is. This is one beautiful bottom. It's also her most attractive non-facial feature. It's not that the rest of her is so bad, but that everything else pales in comparison. By having her hips at an angle, the lines formed by creases between her bottom and her thighs give a strong definition of shape to her hips, they add graphic interest, and her sacral dimples get an added boost. Hooray! The colors are soft, muted whites. I'm sure this looked great on film, but neither the printing quality of 1960 nor the computer scan quality of 1999 really do it justice. Having Kathy's arm raised makes for a more interesting composition and gives us a nice teasing view of her breast, but it also serves as an unwelcome reminder that this is a posed studio shot, not a moment in time.
