In Joey Gibson's centerfold (June 1967) she's been building sandcastles 
on the beach. Looking at her, it's easy for our minds to start building 
our own castles in the sky.

From the neck down, this is a truly great centerfold. The pose really 
shows off Joey's stunning figure, creating lines that are not only 
satisfying in a graphic sense but in an erotic sense as well. The 
lighting deserves special mention. Whether artificial or natural, it 
gives a wonderful dappled effect to Joey's tan. There is something about 
it that makes me want to spend hours running my hand over her back to 
feel the muscles and ribs underneath her warm skin. Given my 
self-proclaimed status as a breast man, this is a real compliment!

From the neck up, things are not so good. Joey's expression, while 
pleasant, is also very forced. The toy shovel is a real disaster. The 
yellow splash is O.K., but the way she is holding it coyly next to her 
face is wrong. It should have been held much more casually and flowed 
out from the line of her arms. Faces are important, and to make that 
mistake right next to Joey's hurts the centerfold.
