In Gaye Rennie's centerfold (April 1968) she's seated on one studio prop 
with one foot up on another.

Gaye looks pretty good in this and several other of her Playboy shots, 
but I've got a couple of problems with the centerfold. One of those 
problems was forced on Playboy, the other one they chose.

First is the choice of pose for Gaye. It does wonderful things for her 
breasts and face, and her arms and legs fall in natural and genuine 
places. The problem is her stomach, which makes her look like the 
middle-aged guy sucking in his gut when a good-looking twenty something 
like Gaye walks by.

The other is the fig leaf. Her red tights end at just the right spot in 
an artistic sense, but that would have been too revealing. As a result 
there are acres of retouched skin where we should see some hair or body 
parts. As a result the centerfold takes on the look of the quarter inch 
game: "If I showed you another quarter inch of skin you'd really be 
seeing something."

That's a game I quit playing back in high school, and I don't find it 
particularly attractive now.
