Sure would be nice to join her. As Playboy looked for their own style in the fifties and sixties, one of the sources they called on for inspiration was the world of fine art. Sharon's centerfold is about the last that drew so overtly from that school. Her reclining form was first explored in the mid to late nineteenth century. Sometimes it is worth covering old ground. I like how the float and the pool provide broad sweeping lines across the frame. I'm going back and forth about the pop can. Sometimes it seems extraneous; sometimes it seems vital. I'm probably worrying about it too much. This pose really does nice things for Sharon. A woman's back can be as sexual as her front, if it's handled right. This photo shows how this is possible. A great looking butt like Sharon's doesn't hurt either. Her tan lines add to the well-deserved emphasis and tie into the color of the float. The hint of a palm frond balances the visual weight of her head very well. Holding the towel is just the right amount of busy-ness. I've forgotten which of Sharon's students that is. Mark Tomlonson Kalamazoo MI
