To: pml1@yahoogroups.com Subject: [PML1] CC: Chris Cranston From: Mark Tomlonson Date: Fri, 12 Sep 2003 09:31:01 -0400 In Chris Cranston's centerfold (April 1971) she has been curled up with a good book. Now she's ready to curl up with something or somebody else. I don't know what it is about food in a centerfold. If the model has been or is about to eat the centerfold always takes on a contrived and somewhat forced feeling for me. Big patterned backgrounds can be tricky too, but here the throw on the sofa is handled very well. It and the drapes covering the open window form a nice frame around Chris. The pose is very flattering to Chris, especially her breasts. It's the most attractive way of portraying them. Her legs, however, are pulled up tight enough that instead of their pleasant shape I find myself thinking about the fig leaf role they're playing. I would rather be thinking of what's under the fig leaf, not the fact that it's covered. Chris' hairstyle is dated, but works with the shape of her face. Her expression works, mostly, although from time to time I can see it as too contrived and cutesy. Must be the influence of the food. It's a good centerfold, typical of Playboy at the time.
