To: pml1@yahoogroups.com Subject: [PML1] CC: Heather Van Every From: Mark Tomlonson Date: Fri, 12 Sep 2003 09:33:04 -0400 In Heather Van Every's centerfold (July 1971) she's stretched out on brocaded pillows, like a concubine in a Sultan's harem. She doesn't look like we're playing the role of a eunuch. Those pillows were a nice choice for the centerfold. They have more pattern on them than Heather (!) and they do an excellent job of setting her off. They also compliment her coloring. Brocades like this were very popular among the Hippies, probably as a way of rejecting the "Ivy League" look of ten years before. Her pose is a bit more problematical. Legs and hips? Couldn't look fuller or more voluptuous. Although they are quite relaxed, they show Heather to be a fit, toned woman. Hand on head? Good stuff here as well. She looks saucy and independent, with a fiery streak that would be delightful to uncover, especially in bed. Hand on breast? Here I see a couple of problems. While this arm doesn't look out of place, it does look like Heather's trying to hide something. Not in a teasing way, but in a way that suggests she's been made to feel ashamed of her figure. A shame that would be entirely unjustified.
