In Debbie Davis's centerfold (June 1972) she's in the midst of a bubble 
bath. It would seem the cleaning process is about to be interrupted by a 
more pleasant activity.

A girl in a bubble bath used to be a pin-up staple. The bubbles could 
provide the requisite fig leaf while still looking very natural. Of 
course we all know what happens to bubbles when you blow on them. 
Playboy used a bubble bath as the setting for several of its 
centerfolds, but I believe this was the last. Now we get car washes instead.

The bubbles here provide a nice frame for Debbie. It's as if we've 
opened a jewelry box and found Debbie safely cradled inside. The white 
frame works very well with Debbie's skin tones. I'm not sure it would be 
as effective with a woman who was either markedly lighter or darker. The 
ribbon on the top of her head ties in well with Debbie's coloration as 
well and provides a nice accent, but borders on the juvenile a bit too much.

Debbie's figure is well suited to this pose, and her expression adds 
just the right amount of sweetness to the whole affair.
