In Mercy Rooney's centerfold (December 1972) she's joined us in the den 
of a Texas ranch house.

There's good stuff happening here:
- Mercy's expression is full of sexual passion. The better news: it's 
directed at us.
- The warm lighting makes her skin seem to glow. That's not unique to 
this shot by any means, but I'll take it.
- The gentle sweeping curve down her chest and left leg supported 
literally and graphically by her right. Graphics only work in a pin-up 
if they're not the first things you notice. They're strong enough here 
to make a pleasing picture but they remain in the background where they 
belong.

Mercy seems to have an affection for the horn on the chair, and this 
time the cigar isn't just a cigar. It's very subtle and easy to 
overlook. Perfect for a pin-up.

One sour note - the chaps. They're just a little too full. They should 
add texture, but not heft to Mercy's legs.

Even with everything good going on here, I still have not been able to 
get a strong emotional connection. Somewhere a distance is being placed 
between Mercy and myself, and I haven't been able to figure out where.
