In Mesina Miller's centerfold (September 1975) she's leaning against a 
tree, issuing a clear invitation to a much more intimate encounter.

Other than the lovely Mesina, the thing that stands out most for me in 
this centerfold is how much it looks perfectly natural when it's 
entirely staged.

The natural bits: Mesina against a tree. The staging: the tree, her pose 
and her fig leaf. It's nothing but a fig leaf; it couldn't be anything 
else. This is not clothing that's worn on the street, this isn't a 
necklace or belt that's slipped out of place, it's a construction 
specifically designed to reveal a certain amount and no more in a 
Playboy centerfold. Everything here is so well done I don't really care 
about this bit of fakery.

The tree in the background is the major structural element, and it 
cradles Mesina' s lovely face and torso in its "L". Her blue jacket 
tossed to the side as well as her blue leather boots and sunglasses add 
a perfect amount of balance and unity to the composition. It's not easy 
being blue, but the contrast between the blues, the tan Mesina and the 
gray tree bark really make this work.
