I'll cast my vote for the latter. There's a lot of engine revving in this shot, but it never really takes off for me. Daina is a great looking woman, and one of my favorite Playmates of the period. She looks O.K. here, with the wind-blown blonde tresses framing her face in an attractive way. The chin down/eyes up look seems a bit much though. Having the left leg turn out and the gown gathered lets the pose be as explicit as was expected for a Playboy centerfold by the mid-seventies. It manages to do so without any sense of artifice. Women sometimes actually stand like this. You can also easily convince yourself that Daina gathers her gown on a frequent basis. The nightgown was designed, even before it was assigned to the centerfold, for maximum breast exposure. It definitely fills that role here. The crossing pattern of the gown gets a subtle repeat in the material just over Daina's right shoulder. The mix of that background against Daina's hair is acceptable, but no great shakes.
