The best thing this centerfold has going for it is the background. It is rich, full, bold and elegant. This is no slight against Debra. She's a very attractive woman. In this photograph, however, it's about texture, form and style, not so much about the sexual appeal of a woman. An unlikely statement in light of Debra's pose, but it always seemed to me that Debra was not used to the fullest in this shot. She's standing with her legs spread to make a triangle. Any sexual invitation is something we're expected to lay on the picture; it's not inherent because Debra isn't issuing it. She's not chasing us away, but neither is she asking us to dive right in. Her pose and costume work very well with the background. The gold trim on her collar was an inspired choice. The double "X" in the composition gives a very stable and firm feeling to the picture, just not a sexual one. I would not have chosen to draw so much attention to Debra's breasts and then covered them up.
